Coil Slitting

Service Centers that are ‘slitting specialists’ often focus on automotive or other lighter gauge markets. The JDM Steel team has extended capability to serve the heavier gauge market:

• Thickness to 0.625″,
• Entry coils up to 74″ wide and 90,000 lbs.,
• Mults from 1.75″ to 72″ and up to 55,000 lbs.

This capability and our facilities’ proximity to major steel mills and ports means JDM Steel is often the first choice of customers who need slitting of their heavier gauge master coils.

Of course, customers needing slitting of their lighter gauge master coils rely on JDM Steel as well. Our high speed slitting capability and adjacent packaging line efficiently turn out slit coils of the cold roll and galvanized strip needed on a JIT basis by suppliers to automotive and appliance OEMs and metal building component manufacturers.
